The world’s leading industry names will come together as StocExpo Europe 2019 returns to Rotterdam next week

Thousands of industry professionals will gather under one roof at the Ahoy in Rotterdam next week when StocExpo Europe, the world’s biggest platform for the tank terminal industry, returns to host an innovation-filled three-day exhibition and conference.

The event, which takes place from 26-28 March 2019, is renowned for attracting the largest global representation of industry professionals due to its strategic positioning within the ARA region. Professionals, experts and analysts from leading oil majors, terminals and key storage players from over 70 countries worldwide will attend for the business, networking and knowledge sharing opportunities the show has to offer.

Exhibitors on Show

Over 200 suppliers from across the whole tank storage supply chain are due to showcase the latest industry-leading products and services during the exhibition, which celebrates its 15th anniversary serving the bulk liquid storage sector this year. For the first time, key terminals such as Stolthaven Terminals and Inter Terminals are among the list of exhibitors. As a result, the event is set to be bigger and stronger than ever before. They are joined by organisations from all over the world, including Siemens, Verwater, CTS Group, Emerson Automation Solutions and J. de Jonge, many of whom will be using the event as the place to launch new technologies and products, or to make major announcements to a captive international audience.

Agidens will launch its patented (pending) ATALK safety technology, a new safety solution that allows an automated flow of critical alarm notifications immediately to the relevant people at the tank terminal or chemical plant, thus improving reaction time and, in turn, reducing on-site risk and cost.

After receiving the Tank Storage Award for the ‘Best Terminal Supplier’ last year, Implico will return to StocExpo Europe 2019 to introduce its newest software solutions, data services and cloud technologies for storage and distribution networks, all of which boost automation and digital transformation in the downstream oil and gas industry.

Automated oil tank cleaning and oil recovery specialist, Oreco, is also planning to introduce a new Roof Leg Nozzle to improve tank cleaning, as well as exhibiting the BLABO®, MoClean®, MoClean-ATS® and SLOPO® at the show.

DUMAG GmbH will demonstrate its tailor-made burner solutions, modular combustion systems and combination processes for the treatment of exhaust air, waste gas and waste streams. Mueller will be exhibiting its range of fire hydrants, butterfly valves and iron gate valves, while Siemens will be demonstrating how customers can optimise the performance of critical oil and gas assets and equipment through its extensive software portfolio, including Tank Storage 4.0.

In addition to the major industry players, the show provides visitors with the opportunity to meet with highly innovative smaller companies that have signed up to showcase a diverse range of products. To help bring exhibitors and visitors together, the organisers will also run a special, hosted buyer programme through which key industry contacts will be brought to StocExpo Europe.

Mark Rimmer, StocExpo & Tank Storage Portfolio Divisional Director, comments: “This year is extra special as we celebrate 15 years of success and reflect on how the show has evolved into the flagship event it is today. Despite being at the forefront of the industry for many years, this year is one of several firsts for the show, not to mention my inaugural year at the helm. In addition to several new organisations and speakers taking part in the conference programme and hosting sessions in the Innovation Theatre, terminals will be exhibiting for the first time, and we have a record number of delegates attending the conference.”

An Informative Conference Programme

The highly-anticipated and CPD-certified conference programme will, for the very first time, be hosted on the show floor, allowing for even greater access to in-depth sessions, presentations and debates delivered by over 30 industry thought leaders. CEOs, Terminal Managers and Analysts have been lined up from companies such as Shell, Alpha Terminals and LBC Tank Terminals to speak at the conference.

The most prominent challenges, developments and solutions in the global tank terminal industry, such as IMO 2020, the rise of new technologies – AI, cyber-security and automation – geopolitical uncertainty and the energy transition, make up the key themes that will be discussed during the event.

Steven Van Belleghem, the world-renowned motivational speaker, will be delivering the keynote talk at the event, discussing how the bulk liquid storage industry can work to win business in a world increasingly driven by artificial intelligence. Van Belleghem will identify and expand upon the three areas of investment decision-makers must focus on if they are to lead AI first-companies; data leverage, effortless user interfaces and intelligence augmented.

Matthew Hudson, Terminal Manager at Shell, is also due to host a session on the practical implications of implementing new oil terminal technologies. By working to modernise Shell’s terminals, Hudson hopes to deliver value both financially and in terms of safety, as tank offline time and human exposure are reduced.

The conference will provide an unrivalled opportunity for all in attendance to access in-depth sessions, presentations and debates on the most pressing industry-related challenges and solutions of the moment. Terminals, traders, oil majors and investors can learn from one another, share best practice and benefit from a range of networking opportunities that put visitors in front of key decision makers, thought leaders and global innovators.

Special Show Features

The Innovation Theatre, situated on the show floor, provides free content to all visitors. Led by industry associations and specialist innovation platforms, EEMUA, iTanks and German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), visitors can take part in round table sessions and presentations to develop best practice and keep abreast of industry standards and regulations to ensure a competent workforce within their businesses.

Continuing the accent on innovation, StocExpo Europe has partnered with iTanks to host a pitch breakfast on 27th March, followed by roundtable sessions in the late morning and afternoon. The pitch breakfast is a unique opportunity to hear short pitches from entrepreneurs with innovative products and plans. The first roundtable session, hosted by Mark Oosterveer, Program Manager at iTanks, is an opportunity to discuss the impact of H2 on assets, devices and handling. In the afternoon, Wim Raaijen, Editor in Chief of Petrochem magazine, will then lead a discussion on the new horizon of H2 as a fuel and feedstock.

The Tank Storage Awards

Hosted by Tank Storage Magazine, the gala dinner and ceremony, due to take place on 26th March during StocExpo Europe, attracts over 200 terminal professionals each year, from as far as Saudi Arabia, India, Malaysia, South Africa, the US and across Europe.

Designed to highlight those that excel in a range of different categories relating to terminal achievements, equipment innovations, ports and individual success, the awards are also one of many informal networking opportunities at the event.
